Saturday

So, our new friend and favorite bartender in the hotel wanted to show us around a bit this weekend so we got together on Santurday to go to Asakusa.
It was an interesting and educational trip into the spiritual side of Tokyo.
We first had a great meal of tendon (rice and tempora) as well as eggplant and tuna dishes, served miso style! YUM. We even got Jay to sit on the floor at the traditional restaurant we went to.
After a great lunch, we were taught how to thank god for the meal, etc. It involved dropping some coins (of course) bowing, clapping twice, and praying for a moment.
The interesting thing about the area was right outside the great temple. Lined up on both sides were booths that I can only describe as a Japanese flea market. Loads of interesting crap that most of us do not need, and I almost bought a plastic bowl of ramen!
